According to Lonely Planet, toilet paper in Honduras doesn't actually go in the toilet. It gets thrown out in the little basket next to the toilet. Who knew? Well for some reason I decided this only applied in rural communities, and not in cities with indoor plumbing. Wrong. When this new group arrived, their leader reminded them not to flush any toilet paper, not even in the hotel. I've probably been wreaking havoc on Copan's sewer system for the past two weeks with my American bathroom ways. It's a really hard habit to break....
