Women weaving
A lot of the local women around Las Mercedes are weavers. They use big foot pedal looms to weave gorgeous colorful shawls and scarfs. This trip, Gloria brought them hand looms, fabric and thread. She showed them how to make purses to sell in the market in La Esperanza. I took a little break from playing doctor in the clinic to watch. Women's empowerment, Honduras style.
